Ocean Pines Golf Members’ Council to Hold Scholarship Fundraiser

The Ocean Pines Golf Members’ Council will host its first junior golf scholarship fundraiser of the season at Ocean Pines Golf Club on Sunday, June 11 with a 3 p.m. shotgun start. The event is open to the public.
Known as the “Sunday Golf Social,” the four-person team event features a best-ball scramble. Players may sign up as a foursome, twosome or single; partners will be matched as necessary. Each team must be comprised of males and females.
The cost to participate is $22 per person, which includes light fare at 5:15 p.m. in the Tern Grille and prizes, plus applicable greens and cart fees. The cost for light fare only for non-golfers is $16 per person. A cash bar and 50/50 raffle will be available.
The registration deadline is June 6. The fee should be submitted to the Golf Shop at Ocean Pines Golf Club at 100 Clubhouse Drive, Ocean Pines, MD, 21811 to the attention of Walt Lischak. Greens and cart fees are payable in the Golf Shop on the day of the event.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Ocean Pines junior golf scholarship fund, which awards up to three scholarships of $500-$1500 each to high school seniors every year.
The scholarships are intended for local students in the Ocean Pines area, including Berlin and Worcester County, who have shown an interest in golf; active participation in competitive golf is not required. The scholarship winners for 2017 school year will be announced at a later date; application information for 2018 will be released next year.
