OP Golf Members’ Council Announces 2022 Scholarships

Scholarship winners 01(June 7, 2022) The scholarship committee of the Golf Members’ Council each year honors students who show an interest in the game of golf and have exemplary academic and extracurricular records. 
 
Bob Long, scholarship committee chairperson, said awards are given on behalf of Ocean Pines Golf Club members who support the fund throughout the year.   
 
He said members have raised more than $45,800 for scholarships over the last seven years, including $21,500 during the last two years.

Opening Day Shamble Winners Announced

(April 4, 2022) Ocean Pines Golf Club celebrated the beginning of the spring golf season with its Opening Day Shamble on April 2. The tournament was open to all Ocean Pines residents and Ocean Pines Golf members.

Two-person teams competed in the event, which was played in a shamble format. Both players teed off on each hole, then chose which drive to use, completing the hole with their own ball from that point.Teams were required to use five tee shots from each player.

Tournament winners included John Ferinde and Kenny Rogers, who walked away with the first-place net prize. Hank Morgan and Bob Moulden were first-place gross winners. 

"It was a great turnout for our opening day event," said Ocean Pines PGA General Manager of Golf John Malinowski. "The sun was shining and the wind was a little chilly, but the course was in great shape and ready for the beginning of the season. It was great to see so many men and women residents of Ocean Pines excited about kicking off the new golf season."

Opening Day Shamble Scheduled for April 2

golfers(March 28, 2022) Ocean Pines Golf Club will celebrate the beginning of the spring golf season at Ocean Pines Golf Club with this fun annual event for men and women. The tournament is open to ALL Ocean Pines residents and Ocean Pines Golf members.
 
The entry fee is $20 per person, plus any associated golf fees for each players. Non-member residents will pay a special price of $35 that day only.
 
The field will consist of two-person teams, pick your own partner and is open to Ocean Pines residents and Ocean Pines Golf members only.
 
Gross and net prizes will be awarded. A verifiable USGA handicap is required to be eligible for the net division.
 
The tournament will be a shamble format. Both players will tee off on each hole. The players will choose which drive to use and complete the hole with their own ball from that point. Handicaps will be at 80%, and teams must use five tee shots from each player.

The Clubhouse Bar and Grille to Participate in Ocean Pines Restaurant Week

Blueberry Bread Pudding(March 4, 2022) The Clubhouse Bar and Grille at the Ocean Pines Golf Club, along with over dozen other area restaurants, will take part in the first-ever Ocean Pines Restaurant Week March 6-12.
 
To take advantage of this special event, pick up a restaurant week card at The Clubhouse Bar and Grille or any of the participating businesses, at ERA Martin Shamrock Division at 11049 Racetrack Road, or at the Ocean Pines Visitors Center at 11047 Racetrack Road.
 
Then, dine in at or order carryout from three or more of the restaurants, get your card stamped, and return it to ERA Martin Shamrock Division by March 16 to be entered into a drawing to win great prizes.
 
Winners will be announced live on the Ocean Pines Chamber of Commerce's Facebook page on March 17 at noon.
 
The Clubhouse Bar and Grille, which is now open daily from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and serves breakfast, lunch and drinks, is offering its full regular menu.
