Golf Gifts for Father's Day

Father's Day is June 19 this year, which gives you just shy of four weeks to shop for the special dads in your life. If any of those dads is a golfer, consider the following gifts:

1. Golf Lessons

A golf lesson - or series of lessons - is a nonthreatening way to let Dad work on his game. Sometimes golfers think they can figure it all out on their own, but consider that ALL Tour players have someone helping them with their games. Golf can be a frustrating sport, but sometimes a tip or two from a PGA professional instructor is all it takes to get things going more smoothly. And there's no question that playing better makes golf more fun.

2. Nike Web Belt/Bottle Opener

A belt - like a tie - may be a bit of a cliche for Father's Day, but there's nothing wrong with an oldie-but-a-goodie gift, especially if it's hip, adjustable AND made by Nike. The best part? It has a bottle opener right on the buckle. Oh - and it comes in something like a dozen colors. To adjust the belt, simply cut the strap to the desired length (up to 42") and replace the buckle. Present this belt with a six-pack of his favorite brew and you're a gift-giving ninja.

3. Glassware

Let Dad relax after his round with Ocean Pines logo glassware. Wrap a glass up with his favorite libation (are we noticing a theme here?) and he'll get to enjoy the benefits of the 19th hole without ever having to leave home.

4. Orange Whip Trainer

Golf gadgets are a dime a dozen, but one of the neatest, newest and most effective is the Orange Whip Trainer. Even better? You can pick one up in the Golf Shop. The Orange Whip gives golfers the ability to practice their swings indoors (hello, cold and wet weather) using minimal space and only a few minutes of training time per day. With regular use, golfers will notice increased flexibility, strength, coordination and perfectly-balanced tempo. Prepare for oohs and ahhs when you whip this gift out.

5. Gift Cards

An Ocean Pines Golf & Country Club gift card can be used for lessons, Golf Shop merchandise, food and beverages and for the driving range. If you're not sure what Dad needs or wants, a gift card in the amount of your choosing is a great way to go. Plus he'll think of you every time he uses it. You can purchase gift cards online (we'll even ship it for free!) or in the Golf Shop.

If you're just not sure what gift to give, ask our Golf Shop staff.  They're professional, nice and they really know a lot about golf. Stop by the Golf Shop and they'll be happy to help you wrap your Father's Day shopping up.
