Equitable Stroke Control
Maryland handicap posting for the 2016 season officially begins on Tuesday, March 15. When posting your scores, though, make sure you keep equitable stroke control in mind.
Equitable stroke control is a way of making sure handicaps accurately reflect a player's true ability. That means that if your score on an individual hole is much worse than is typical for you, there are limits to how high a score you can post for handicapping purposes.
If you're playing in a tournament, say, then the score for that hole stands. But as far as handicap posting goes, you have to keep the following limits in mind:
