Your number will be based off your 8 best scores out of the past 20. This change will be minor, but you may see a change in your handicap index in January, even if you haven't played recently.

Santa's Open Charity Golf Tournament Returns to Ocean Pines

Area golfers can enjoy golf, fun and holiday cheer at the 27th annual Santa’s Open golf tournament to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Ocean Pines Golf Club.
 
Registration for this fun event will begin at 9 a.m. and the tournament will begin at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start. A reception and awards will follow at 3 p.m.
 
The fee per golfer is $75 if registration is received by Nov. 30 or $85 at the door. The fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart, breakfast, contests, golfer gift and post-tournament reception. Each golfer is also asked to bring a new, unwrapped gift for a child.

OPLGA, OPMGA Raise Money for Mammograms

The Ocean Pines Ladies Golf Association held its annual Pink Lady day on Tuesday, October 8 to raise money for the Atlantic General Hospital Foundation to fund mammograms for those who may not be able to afford them.
 
The Ocean Pines Men's Golf Association helped to support the effort on its final Men's Day of the season by wearing pink and also contributing to the cause.
 
Together, both groups raised $1,680 for this worthy cause!

Cooper Wins Sixth Men's Club Championship

The Ocean Pines Men’s Golf Association held the Men’s Club Championship Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21-22. The weather was warm and summerlike while the course was challenging with deep rough and soft fairways.

The Championship Flight was played from the blue tees at 6632 yards and was dominated by Dana Cooper with rounds of 78 and 81; this was Cooper’s sixth Ocean Pines championship and his first since 2011. Several shots back was a cluster of competitors led by runner-up Mark Watts, while Frank Ruggiere had the Championship Flight’s low net score.

Ladies' Golf Association Announces Governor's Cup Results

The Ocean Pines Ladies Golf Association held their annual Governor’s Cup tournament at the Ocean Pines Golf Club on Sept. 17.
 
Twenty-one women took part in the tournament, which uses a one-day, stroke play, low-net format.
 
Awards went to the Overall Low Net Champion, and first and second low–net finishers in two flights.
